Todd Tobias did an excellent job of making Robert Pollard’s song “Science Magazine” sound like a lo-fi GBV track from the classic era by recording on 8-track and using a drum sample run through a distortion pedal for the percussion. You could probably slide this track in between any two songs on Alien Lanes and it would fit right in.
