“Optical Hopscotch” contains some great Robert Pollard weirdness, both in lyrics and musical composition. He uses some oddball chord shapes, as well as some chord progressions that I probably never would have considered. Doug Gillard’s lead contributions are the icing on the cake, perfectly complementing Pollard’s rhythm guitar.
